The Metal-Black Tech dice saved my life during my trip to Nilf 3. Bloody "hedgehogs", ugly as a striga mixed with a drowner, shot us what they could. We crashed as many as we could, but the bastards were hard, ammunition quickly ran out. The last thing I had left was my black set of Techs. I put them in my magnetic ejector with the back puller and started firing. Shot seven times, the buggers were falling like flies, then the back puller brought the dice back to the electromagnet and I fired again! We maintained our position. Then, after support came, I removed my dice from the ejector. I saved my squad and once again we could sit in the evening in the canteen and play games. Even the paint from the dice had not faded. It was on the ship that I realized the tin was a weak paramagnet. I don't know how I pulled my Techs out of the "hedgehogs". All I can say is these dice are kind of magic.
